Chloë Buse is an artist, filmmaker, & co-founder of Candy Bank Productions, an independent film company that creates dark twisted folk & faerie tales. Her films (co-created with Natalie and Sam Buse) have been screened around the world, including the Medusa Underground Film Festival & David Lynch’s Twin Peaks Festival in 2016 & 2017 — an incredible honor, due to Lynch’s pervasive influence on their work.

Artistically, Chloë is interested in the intersection of horror and beauty, constantly inspired by folklore, witchcraft, Catholicism, Rococo, and anime.

Candy Bank Productions is a filmmaking family of impish feminist artists crafting fantastical low-budget indie films teeming with dreamy horror elements and strong female characters. Together with partner-in-crime mother Natalie Buse, Chloë runs the studio based in her hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. Chloë also acts as a storyboard artist, animator, costumer, propmaker, writer, director, and actor in their work at Candy Bank Productions

Chloe & Natalie served as judges and hosts for the Ax Wound Film Festival for women in horror from 2018 (when MovieMaker Magazine named the event one of the 30 Bloody Best Genre Fests worldwide) until 2022.

Chloë and Natalie’s most beloved character since 2018 is the lovable scamp & cannibal witch Rowena Gangrena. You can keep up with her misadventures via YouTube.

Chloë is soon graduating from Indiana University in the Studio Art program, with a double minor in Japanese and Art History. She also works part-time as a photographer and videographer for Indiana University’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department, creating informational videos and nuanced event photography.
